The fourth year of X Games Rally had, once again, a different look and feel.
Competition. Pushing the Envelope. Trying Harder.
If there's one theme that runs through the craziness of the annual summer X Games, which celebrated its 15th anniversary this year, it's that the competitors have to push harder each year. But when you push harder, the number of incidents on track tend to increase. And that's just what seemed to happen to many competitors this year.
Take Travis Pastrana: For the first time since 2006, Pastrana decided to go for the gold again in the Moto X Best Trick Final. He was yet again attempting the impossible, trying to perform a backflip and 360-degree rotation. If you watched the event live, you know that he was unsuccessful, landing hard on his backside. He was pretty sore, but, like the great sportsman he is, it barely fazed him as he prepared to race his Subaru two days later.
Read on for a day-by-day account of how the event unfolded for the three Subaru Rally Team USA (SRT USA) drivers.
