The Subaru plant in Lafayette, Indiana, held a Subaru Challenge autocross again this year, on August 20. Subaru owners brought their vehicles to the parking lots of Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc., to compete in the event, which was monitored by members of the Indianapolis region of the Sports Car Club of America. A plant tour the night before was made available to the first 30 registrants.
Ninety-one participants were on the entry list, and it took most of the day to complete their multiple runs. All the while, everyone's eyes were on the western skies, watching for predicted rainstorms.
