| “There will be plenty to be excited about with our 2012 programs.” |

Experience and consistency are the watchwords for the two Subaru Motorsports teams – Subaru Rally Team USA (SRT USA) and Subaru Road Racing Team (SRRT) – as they face their 2012 seasons.
Vermont SportsCar of Burlington, Vermont, remains the car builder for the team. It also fields cars for Subaru in the Rally America National Championship (stage rally) and Global RallyCross with their two drivers returning from last year. One driver is last year’s Rally America National Championship winner David Higgins, who will defend his championship in the six-rally series. The other is X Games legend Dave Mirra, who will focus on the seven Global RallyCross events.
For 2012, Rally America has six rounds of stage rally. That’s the same as last year, except that event dates are scheduled later in the year than in previous seasons. Global RallyCross is scheduled to expand to seven rounds this year.

SRT USA uses Subaru WRX STI 5-Door models with modifications keyed to the events in which they compete. Rules and regulations for stage rally Open Class cars are more restrictive than they are for rallycross all-wheel-drive cars. While Subaru is prominent on the podium for American stage rally, purpose-built rallycross cars based on vehicles not sold in the United States posed a challenge for SRT USA last year in rallycross.
Although a couple of the events have been held (check up on the teams via Journal entries and photos with this article), there are plenty more to attend throughout the rest of the year. We hope to see you there rooting for Subaru!
