Phoenix Performance of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, prepares and fields the WRX STI Sedan for SRRT. The team has competed with a #35 WRX STI in the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge the last two years – a red 5-Door for 2010 and a black pin-striped Sedan last year. For 2012, SRRT continues to campaign the 4-Door WRX STI, now in an eye-catching blue.

Subaru Motorsports Marketing Manager James Han grants that last year’s efforts were challenging: “It took some developmental changes and a fair bit of work. But that was also based on a moving performance target within the GS Class of GRAND-AM.” SRRT looks forward to an improved season.

Consistency helps to raise expectations. Team drivers Bret Spaude and Andrew Aquilante return to pilot the car in the 10-round GS Class season.

There’s no such thing as business as usual in racing. Everything is in flux. Winning teams cannot rest on their laurels, because all of their competitors have prepared to strike and take every advantage to be had. Every series racing event is a battle, and every season is a war.
Both Subaru Motorsports teams have experience on their sides. Their drivers are well seasoned, and their race cars have been tempered by last year’s fires. With time to regroup, the two teams look forward to schedules that have modifications from previous years.
Consistency in equipment and personnel also enhances Subaru Motorsports efforts.
