|Editor’s Note: I’ve been fortunate to be able to travel to different parts of the country with Drive Performance magazine and to meet so many terrific people. The following two emails are from Subaru owners I’ve met while on the road – Laura and Wade Parras at a rally in Oregon, Doug Schwartz on the streets in the Milwaukee suburbs.

We met you at the Oregon Trail Rally, and you asked for some pictures. Wade and I – Laura – both enjoyed talking with you and hope you enjoyed yourself as much as we did this weekend.
Here are some pictures of Wade’s 2010 WRX STI. The first one is just below the trailhead for the Souixon Trail in southwest Washington in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The photo was taken on January 28, 2010.
The next picture was taken to show off the snow that was landing on top of the car. The Cold Creek trail, part of the Tarbell Trail System in southwest Washington outside of Camas, Washington, had snow at the top and it was snowing at the time. We went as far as we could and turned around. As we rode down the snow followed us.
For Wade’s birthday, we went to the Featherbed Railroad B&B in Nice, California. All the cottages were restored cabooses. It was fun and, of course, we brought our bikes with us.
We love Subi, and Wade loves to rally as we get there, bikes on top as we go!

We met briefly in May of last year in Brookfield, Wisconsin. I was driving my 2009 Subaru Impreza, and you were driving the Drive Performance Subaru WRX.
The one piece of advice that you gave me was that if ever I had a chance to get a WRX, jump on it; wouldn’t necessarily need to be the WRX STI.
I just wanted to let you know that a little over a year later, I ordered and took delivery of a 2012 Subaru WRX. It’s only been a few days now, but I have never been more happy with a vehicle. It is quite a thrill to drive. I am very pleased with the technology and performance of this WRX.
So although we had a brief meeting, I just wanted to drop you a note and thank you for the recommendation.
